The Hope Center Foundation's Youth Trauma Arts Camp aims to break the generational cycle of violence and poverty in the Roseland, Pullman, and West Pullman areas by establishing programs that integrate art as a vehicle of healing. The focus for the youth is to develop intentional relationships that will increase their emotional intelligence, bond them over shared experiences, and build their confidence in overcoming challenges due to trauma.
Creative Therapies complement our traditional talk therapy, since many of our youth find it easier to express their trauma in a way that engages more than just speech. This allows youth in DCFS care to tap into their creative sides while clinical therapists provide individualized treatment, allowing the youth to explore their feelings, manage behaviors, reduce anxiety, and increase self-esteem.
