Adoption: Offers relative and non-relative, second parent, stepparent, adult, and DCFS foster parent adoption services. Post Adoption: Families are connected with resources meant to aid in adoption preservation. Legal Custody: Helps to provide legal custody to caregivers- whether for a child or disabled adult. Guardianship: Helps to provide legal guardianship, which allows the caregiver to make decisions for the child in their care.

Helps families adopt American children, both with and without unique challenges. The children assisted are not only from Illinois, but they can also reside anywhere in the United States. OCH works with other agencies to assist with the matching process and to assess the needs of the child to determine whether the child and family make an appropriate match.
Services offered include post adoption therapy, parenting workshops, support groups and reunion services.
Services provided include Domestic and International Adoption Home Studies, assistance with Interstate Adoptions, Birth Parent Services and other resources.
FATE program supporting and aiding Muslim children currently in the foster care system. Services include advocacy, counseling, training, and education for Muslim families to help them come forward as foster families.
Options counseling with Cradle Counselors to explore all options related to a pregnancy. Help with choosing an adoptive family for child and coordinating the meeting of the families. Continued post-adoption counseling for birth parents experiencing sadness or a sense of loss.
Greenlight Family Services provides post-adoption services to families who have adopted a child who was previously in the Illinois foster care system. These services are offered free of cost to the family. Post-adoption services strengthen families by providing them with the support of qualified and licensed social workers. Families are connected with resources meant to aid in adoption preservation.
Hopeful Beginnings has social workers able to meet at a location that is most comfortable for you and at the hospital if needed. Their social workers are available 24/7 throughout Illinois. The goal is to empower and educate you on your rights and options regarding an unplanned pregnancy.

Provides several adoption services. Services include: - Home studies for adoptions and foster licensing. - Direct hospital placement adoptions. - Adoption seminars. - Support groups during adoption waiting period. - Adoption support for birth parents.
Provides home studies for couples and individuals who wish to adopt domestically, within the USA, as well as home studies for couples and individuals who wish to adopt a child from another country. ICM does not guarantee participants will receive a child to adopt through its programs. ICM provides services to birth parents within Illinois that wish to place their born and unborn children for adoption. ICM places these children in homes that meet the criteria to adopt.
Serves families interested in adopting a legally free child. The Domestic Infant Adoption Program and Pregnancy Support Services Program are committed to allowing birth parents and adoptive parents to design an adoption plan that is in the best interest of the child. The Adoption Program recognizes the importance of the adoptive parents and birth parents developing an on-going relationship. - Works to match families waiting to adopt with birthparents who choose to make an adoption plan for their newborn. - Caritas may also provide services to adoptive families who already have a prospective match or may have already received a placement of a child on their own. - If the families chooses, the Agency may assist them in networking or they may independently search on their own to locate a prospective match.
Services include adoption planning, decision making support, information and education about adoption, and post-adoption support and counseling for up to a year after placement

Assists adoptive families with the process of adoption. Adoption specialists available to provide support and guidance before, during, and after adoptions. Adoption programs: Domestic Identified Adoption: Prospective adoptive families and birth parents connect with each other directly or through an intermediary. LCFS can provide guidance to the prospective adoptive families. Interstate Adoption: LCFS can assist prospective adoptive families in Illinois who identify prospective birth parents in another state. LCFS can also assist prospective adoptive families living outside of Illinois who have located expectant parents living in Illinois who are considering an adoption plan. Adopting Children in Care: LCFS can assist prospective adoptive parents who are interested in adopting youth in care who are waiting for adoptive families. International (Home Study Only) Adoption: LCFS can complete a home study for Illinois prospective adoptive parents who are working with a Hague-accredited placing agency or approved adoption service provider (ASP). The LCFS adoption specialist will: - Provide assistance in meeting all of the international home study requirements and complete a thorough home study report. - Provide assistance in obtaining and requiring, approved Hague adoption training. - Help identify the type of child best suited for the adopting family. - Provide information on adoptive parent resources. - Provide post-placement/post-adoption services and support and complete the reports that are required by your child's country of origin and the ASP. - Provide guidance on obtaining a Social Security number, a U.S. birth certificate and proof of U.S. citizenship for the child, as well as information for the finalization of the child's adoption or re-adoption in the United States. Search Assistance: Domestic Adoption Search: LCFS search assistance services focus on helping adoptees and birth parents access information or connection they seek. If a connection if made, LCFS provides guidance and support during the connection process. Services include: - Providing non-identifying background and medical case-file information to adoptees by Illinois law. - Making an attempt to contact a birth parent or an adoptee based on case file information (if requested). International Post Adoption Services: Birth Family Search - Korea: Korean-born adult adoptees (age 19 or older) or parents of adopted minors who were placed thorough Lifelink International Adoption can initiate a search for birth parents. LCFS will facilitate the exchange of available information through Eastern Social Welfare Society (ESWS). Correspondence with Located Korean Birth Family and/or Foster Family: LCFS can serve as an intermediary between an adoptee who was placed by Lifelink International Adoption and located birth family and/or foster family members by facilitating ongoing correspondence. Photos and letters will be emailed to ESWS' Post Adoption Program. If both parties consent to share email addresses, ESWS will then encourage direct contact. LCFS is not able to provide translation services.
