Lions Club works to help people in Batavia with vision and hearing needs. Partners with Dr. Rand Toney in Batavia to provide eye exams and glasses for those in need. Also, works with school nurses and Batavia Public Schools to provide services to students in need. Will consider other needed services.

Pediatric Vision Care - Lurie Children's Hospital - Outpatient Center in Lincoln Park

Lurie Children's Division of Ophthalmology provides treatment and care for a full range of pediatric eye disorders, eye trauma, and vision problems. The division consists of ten board-certified ophthalmologists with fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus and three optometrists with interests in pediatric care and low vision.

Eye Thrive serves low-income children by providing essential vision services. Guided by organizational values of transformational change, empowerment, compassion, equity and trust, Eye Thrive serves thousands of students every year. Through initial vision screenings Eye Thrive identifies students with possible vision impairments. The Mobile Vision Clinic team is then deployed to provide comprehensive eye exams that determine if corrective eyewear is needed. Students are provided with the glasses they need, a positive health care experience and, through our Electronic Medical Records system, the confidence to know that someone is monitoring their eye health year after year.

Used Eyeglasses Collection. Eyeglasses collected for distribution and reuse in poverty areas worldwide.

Diabetic Eye Screening, Travels the state to give free, basic screenings to adults with diabetes and adults over 55 years of age to detect diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration.

Mobile Hearing Screening Unit that travels the state to give free screenings to adults, detect possible hearing loss, and educate the public.

Used Hearing Aid Bank provides reconditioned hearing aids to persons who cannot afford them.
