An outreach mission program to provide assistance to children of low income families. Items available include: - Clothing (including new underwear/socks, new and used winter clothing and coats, new and used shoes, and new/gently used clothes of other kinds). - Layettes for newborns, a play yard (to be used as a safe place for the baby to sleep). - Car seats (only provided to those parents who do not own their own car). - Umbrella Strollers.

Pregnancy medical clinic that serves women with unplanned pregnancies. Staff provides medical services, resources, guidance, and support. Medical Services include: - Pregnancy testing. - Pregnancy verification. - Ultrasounds. - STI/STD testing and treatment. Support Services include: - Material assistance. - Resources & referrals.

Expectant/New Parent Assistance
Educates parents and caregivers of children with special needs on the importance of proper child passenger safety. Services include: - A resource center for nurseries and organizations across the State of Illinois that provides phone and in-person consultation and guidance for proper car seat usage and optimum safety. - Education to parents, groups, hospital staff and certified child passenger safety technicians on changes in national guidelines and new seat choices. - Proper selection, installation and fitting of special needs restraints for parents and their child. - A short-term loan program to provide seats to parents in need.
Provides information on child safety, including organizations that install child safety seats.
Assists pregnant women and children to obtain health care services in order to have a healthy pregnancy and promote the healthy development of the child and family. The goals of the program are: - To provide access to primary health care. - To identify and resolve access barriers through referral and linking. - To provide health education to all eligible clients. - To reduce infant mortality. Child Passenger Safety Seats: A convertible car seat for children may be available through the Health Department if the family qualifies. Please call for further information.
Provides car seats. Must attend a class in a hospital prior to receiving the car seat.
Compassion Reaching Infants & Babies (C.R.I.B): Assist mothers with getting baby's first car seat and other necessities for their new arrival.
