Educational Testing | College of DuPage - Testing Center Addison

Programs within the formal education system or offered by outside agencies which utilize a variety of instruments to gather information about an individual's abilities, skills, understanding, knowledge, achievement, or educational, psychological or medical difficulties for the purpose of screening and selecting individuals for admission to an educational institution or program or for developing a plan of individualized instruction to help students who have exceptional needs overcome their learning problems.

Educational Testing

Provides assessments and intervention services for children with disabilities or high risk factors. Offers advocacy and support for 504 and Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs).

Programs offered by the schools or available through public or private agencies that assess children who have been referred for the presence of a disability in order to determine their eligibility for special education and related services, and to make an informed decision about their educational placement and instruction.  Information about a student's skills and needs is drawn from many sources including parents, teachers and specialists, and by using a variety of assessment approaches such as observations, interviews and testing, and methods such as dynamic assessment or ecological assessment. Included are evaluations which measure the student's social-emotional growth; independent living skills; sensorimotor, language and intellectual functioning; hearing and visual acuity; articulation and fluency; and other factors which have an effect on the student's ability to learn.

Special Education Assessment

Range of services to deal with the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral concerns of children and adolescents. Services include:
- Comprehensive evaluations.
- Counseling/therapy.
- Parent and school consultation.
- Academic intervention with children and youth.
Also provides evaluations for college-aged students and an adult DBT skills group by therapist referral.

City Colleges of Chicago offers the Dual Credit program in partnership with Chicago Public Schools to allow high school students to take courses for both high school graduation credit and college credit, free of charge.
