Provides an Emergency Assistance Program is designed to alleviate life-threatening circumstances and to assist a person in attaining/maintaining self-sufficiency. Offers assistance with the following: - Prescriptions - Funeral & Burial - Housing/Rental - Utility - Transportation - ID’s - Employment assistance
Provides emergency financial assistance to residents who are in need, including: - Rental and utility assistance - Employed clients who have transportation issues Residents can receive assistance up to three times. Each time must be 18 months apart. - First time applicants qualify for up to $400 of assistance - Second time applicants qualify for up to $250 of assistance - Third (and last) time applicants qualify for up to $150 of assistance Applicants are required to participate in a financial session before receiving funds. Some LIHEAP applicants may qualify for the Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP), where an eligible client pays a percentage of their income, receives a monthly benefit towards their utility bill, and receives a reduction in overdue payments for every on-time payment they make by the bill due date. If the homeowner's furnace is not working or is dangerous or emitting carbon monoxide into the household, LIHEAP may be able to provide a furnace repair or replacement.
