Provides assistance to discharged veterans and their dependents in applying for federal benefits, including compensation or pension claims, as well as benefits available under federal, state, or local laws. Services may include emergency financial assistance for basic necessities such as rent or mortgage payments, utilities, burial benefits, transportation assistance (bus tokens) and food.

Offers a program for qualifying LINK recipients to double LINK purchases at participating farmers markets.

For each dollar spent with a LINK card at a participating farmers market, individuals will receive a $1 coupon, up to $25. (EXAMPLE: $25 spent equals $25 worth of coupons earned.)

Link Up Illinois Double Value Coupons can only be spent on fruit and vegetables; not redeemable for cash or change.

Food pantry. Also offers vouchers for Hinckley Fresh Market to local residents. Offers school supplies and household supplies (toilet paper, soap, etc.) when donations are received.

Facilitate an income maintenance program administered and funded entirely by the county that provides financial assistance, such as for rent, utilities, food, or other essential needs, primarily for adults who have no minor children in the home and are ineligible for any of the federally-funded cash grant programs.

Each individual will be interviewed to determine the need, the best method to meet that need, and offer life skills guidance to prevent further occurrence of the emergency situation. Referrals are made to other human services agencies when appropriate.
