Description

CMAA's Penny Severns Family Literacy Program provides integrated and intensive instruction for immigrant and refugee families in order to improve their reading and writing skills and English language proficiency. Parents receive English as a Second Language (ESL) tutoring and support while also participating in workshops on topics such as children's health and safety, and children receive instruction in subjects such as literacy and arts & crafts. Parents and children learn and bond together by learning how to use library resources, going on field trips, and other interactive parent-child activities.
