Connections for the Homeless

Connections for the Homeless works to prevent homelessness through financial assistance to households facing eviction, provides emergency shelter for people in crisis, secures permanent housing for individuals and families, and organizes their community through advocacy efforts. Their four main program areas are shelter, housing, prevention, and advocacy. Additionally, Connections distributes food in partnership with the Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD).This agency also refers eligible clients needing home furniture to the Chicago Furniture Bank (CFB), which does not accept walk-ins or calls for furniture requests. Individuals requesting furniture may contact Connections for the Homeless staff or its main number at (847) 475-7070, ext. 100 to discuss further. Connections for the Homeless staff will work to assess the client's needs and schedule an appointment on their behalf.
