MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID AND YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID | MCLEAN COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT

Mental Health First Aid and Youth Mental Health First Aid courses teach individuals how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. This 8 hour training teaches skills necessary to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use program and help connect them to appropriate care. Youth Mental Health First Aid course teaches adults who work with youth how to reach out and provide initial support to adolescents (ages 12-18) who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care. Services include: - Scheduling and coordinating MHFA courses within McLean County. - Supporting businesses, community, health and human services organizations to train their staff, group members and the general community. - Providing certified instructors for training courses within McLean County. - Providing marketing materials and support.
