CENTER FOR PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS | WINNEBAGO COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT

Prepares for and coordinates the responses to public health emergencies. Works closely with local and state agencies to plan for all hazards that may impact the publics health, train staff and volunteers to respond, and test the response plans through exercises to improve upon the plans and trainings. Recruits and trains volunteers from the community to the Medical Reserve Corps to be available to respond in a public health emergency. Programs: - Developing and writing WCHD's emergency response plans. - Coordinating the WCHD's emergency response. - Coordinating the Winnebago County Medical Reserve Corps. Developing and Writing WCHD's Emergency Response Plans: - Works with local, state, and federal partners using best practices to prepare for emergencies that impact the public health, write plans, and test the plans through exercises and real events. Coordinating WCHD's Emergency Response: - Utilizes the incident command structure to coordinate WCHD's response to public health concerns and emergencies. Coordinating the Winnebago County Medical Reserve: - Lead the recruitment and deployment of volunteers to assist during public health events and emergencies.
