Application process

Visit website to apply. Application is smart phone-friendly. For people with disabilities, an application may be requested by phone and mailed to you. To apply in-person, visit website or call to locate the nearest site. Documents Required: - A current color photo that clearly shows applicant's face - Valid Photo ID with same address listed on SNAP decision notice letter (driver's license or Chicago CityKey card) - Copy of SNAP decision notice letter (must be dated within one year)

Description

Offers discounted fares for the Metra to individuals receiving SNAP benefits. Qualified individuals will be issued an Access Permit to purchase discounted fares. Operates throughout the RTA's six-county region (Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry, and Will counties). **NOTE: This is a "pilot" program and will run temporarily from February 1, 2024 through January 31, 2026.
