VICTIM SERVICES | KANE COUNTY JUDICIAL CENTER

Provides information and support throughout the criminal justice process. Victim advocates provide information and connections to outside agencies that assist specific needs such as domestic violence shelters, sexual assault crisis centers, senior service, police departments, and hospitals. They also assist with completing necessary forms for restitution and the Attorney General's Office's Crime Victims Compensation Application. A homicide support group is also available for families who have lost a loved one due to homicide. Homicide Support Group: Hosts a homicide support group for adult family members that have lost loved ones due to homicide. The group is facilitated by a licensed clinical psychologist and a staff member from the State's Attorney's office. The crime does not have to have occurred in Kane County, nor does the incident have to have ever been prosecuted.
