STATE'S ATTORNEY | VERMILION COUNTY

The State's Attorney handles prosecution of all criminal complaints in Vermilion County involving violations of state law, and provides advice and counsel to County officers. Matters handled by the State's Attorney include: - Felony cases. - Juvenile cases. - Misdemeanors. - County affairs. - Traffic offenses. - Mental health cases. The Victim Assistance Program offers support, services and information for crime victims. Services offered are: - Assistance and information throughout court proceedings. - Referrals to appropriate agencies for additional help. - Transportation for criminal justice hearings, appointments, and trials when necessary. - Assistance in seeking crime victim compensation benefits.
